Stratford hotel takes weddings to the stage
As preparations for the Royal Wedding reach fever pitch, The Arden Hotel have added their own matrimonial magic to the mix with their first wedding inspired by the bard.
Bride and Groom Tim Grantham and Joyce Williams tied the knot at Stratford Registry Office on Saturday 2nd April. After the celebrations the couple and their twenty nine guests walked back to The Arden Hotel accompanied by theatrical entertainment for the journey.
After a Champagne reception the happy gathering sat down to a two course lunch in the hotel’s private Brooke Suite. During the meal the hotel popped theatre tickets, courtesy of the Bride and Groom, into the guest’s rooms to be discovered on their return from lunch, along with a programme provided by the RSC.
Siân Smith, Sales Executive at The Arden Hotel commented,
‘Joyce and Tim contacted us last year to ask if we could incorporate their idea of taking their guests to the RSC as part of their wedding day celebrations at The Arden and we were delighted to help! They wanted to create something slightly different from the more traditional approach which is exactly what weddings at The Arden are all about - we understand that no two weddings are the same so we approach every wedding differently.’
The whole party attended a performance of Shakespeare’s famous love story, Romeo and Juliet at the newly refurbished Royal Shakespeare Theatres where the Bride and Groom received a very special programme of the performance signed by the cast.
The Arden arranged more Champagne on their return to the hotel and a selection of delicious deserts to finish the evening off with a last indulgence before staying overnight then enjoying a leisurely breakfast in the Waterside Brasserie.
The Bride and Groom were delighted with every aspect of their day, remarking,
'We had the day that we had planned, and it turned out to be even more wonderful than we'd hoped for. Stratford has always been a special place for us, and to have our wedding there was amazing. Our whole day was perfect, from start to finish, and the Arden and all the staff helped to make the occasion truly unforgettable'.
