New Place & Nash’s House

New Place & Nash’s House

Shakespeare’s New Place was his home from 1610 until his death in 1616. It later passed to his daughter Susanna Hall and granddaughter Elizabeth, who was married to Thomas Nash (of Nash’s House). Though the house no longer exists, New Place is now a garden honouring Shakespeare’s legacy, featuring a traditional Elizabethan knot garden and a sculpture of a windswept mulberry tree.
