RSC Theatre Package

The RSC are bringing brand new Spring productions of Shakespeare classics to the RSC Theatre, located directly opposite our boutique hotel. We have partnered with The RSC to bring you a fabulous theatre and hotel package, including everything you need for an amazing staycation. Enjoy a sumptuous stay in our townhouse along with dinner and tickets to the theatre, a package not to be missed!

The Tempest asks us to examine the delicate balance in our personal relationships as well as with the fragile ecosystems around us. What damage do we do to each other – and to the natural world? In the end, young love brings hope for a better life: perhaps healing ourselves and mending the planet are one and the same thing. Alex Kingston returns to the RSC to play Prospero in Shakespeare’s elemental tale of survival and forgiveness.

Julius Caesar. A divisive leader who holds awesome power. Concerned that Caesar poses a threat to democracy, revolutionaries take the violent decision to murder him. They have no plan for what comes next. As the world spins out of control, chaos, horror and superstition rush in to fill the void. Civil war erupts and a new leader must rise: but at what cost? Shakespeare’s political thriller exposes the ambiguous morality in trying to shift power. As we rage against the crises surrounding us, how far will each of us go for our political principles?

If you have never seen Cymbeline before, make sure you see this production of Shakespeare’s rare late romance in this most special year. The story tumbles from Rome to the hills of Wales, and teems with extraordinary fairytale characters: a wicked stepmother, a girl who flees in disguise, a faithful servant, lost brothers and even a headless corpse. As Jupiter descends on an eagle to resolve this beguiling tangle of tales, Cymbeline rises to a breathtaking crescendo, the giddiest climax in the entire canon. To celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s First Folio, our Artistic Director Emeritus Gregory Doran directs the last play in that miraculous volume.
