Situated in the heart of Stratford upon Avon, here at The Arden Hotel, we understand that so many visitors love to stay over in our historic town and take a trip to our wonderful theatres, including the world-famous Royal Shakespeare Company, but, even though the theatres are closed for now, there’s still so much to see and do here. A Walk Along the River… with Takeaway Afternoon Tea

Take a beautifully scenic walk (plan yours with The Canal and River Trust’s free downloadable map) along Bancroft Basin, on the Stratford upon Avon Canal and stop for a break in the beautiful Bancroft gardens. Located just opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and surrounded by boats, a Swan Fountain and stunning flower displays, it’s the perfect spot to relax with our Arden Hotel takeaway Afternoon Tea. Freshly made daily and beautifully packaged to go, our Afternoon Tea includes plump scones with jam and clotted cream, a selection of fancies and sandwiches with a choice of fillings as well as fine teas or locally roasted coffee. Boat Hire… on the River Avon

You can also hire a boat and explore over three miles of peaceful river with Avon Boating. Established in 1898, they offer rowing boats, self-drive motorboats, punts and canoes from late March to late October. You can even take your Arden Hotel takeaway Afternoon Tea with you and enjoy it under the willows.

See the Butterflies… At Stratford upon Avon Butterfly Farm

Adults and children alike will love a visit to the Butterfly Farm which has now reopened with the appropriate social distancing measures in place. Filled with an abundance of colourful butterflies, it’s the perfect way to while away an afternoon… and fun for all the family.

Enjoy a film… at the Cinema 

Stratford’s Everyman Cinema, is now open. Tucked away in Bell Court in a courtyard of unusual boutiques and classy restaurants, this cinema has a luxury vintage feel where food and drink are served to your seats. Great for family outings or a romantic date on a cloudy day.

Stratford upon Avon has a wonderfully diverse range of shops to explore; from all the usual high street chains to local, independent businesses selling everything from gifts and antiques to deli food and fudge, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
